Player Spotlight CRAIG POINT

(June 25, 2015)… Rochester Knighthawks forward Craig POINT has been on fire this summer and so have the Six Nations Chiefs. On Tuesday night, Point connected for a pair of goals in an 11-9 win over the PETERBOROUGH Lakers at the Iroquois Lacrosse Arena.

The goals gave him 14 points in his last four GAMES for the first-place Chiefs. After the two-game sweep of the Lakers, the Chiefs (7-1) now lead Peterborough by four points for the top spot in Major Series Lacrosse.

On Tuesday, Point scored twice in the second period as he utilized one of the hardest shots in the game. On his first goal, he took a pass in the SLOT and fired a low shot past Evan Kirk. The power-play goal at 1:12 gave Six Nations a 3-2 lead over the Lakers. On his final goal, he won a loose ball battle and then ripped a shot top corner to give the Chiefs a 5-4 lead heading into the third period.

After seven GAMES this season, Point remains fifth on the team with 21 points (12+9). The team is also unbeaten with its veteran forward in the lineup. The Six Nations product rejoined the two-time defending Mann Cup champs after collecting 22 goals and 24 assists in 15 games with the Knighthawks.

In the latest episode of the Player Spotlight, broadcaster Craig Rybczynski sat down with Point and some of his teammates to give fans some insight into the summer lacrosse season.
